INTRODUCTION

Facility Guidelines Institute, Inc. (“FGI” or We”) respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this privacy policy (this “Policy”).

This Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit https://fgiguidelines.org/, https://shop.fgiguidelines.org/, and https://fgiguidelines.net/ (the “Websites”) and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

This Policy applies to information we collect:

  • If applicable, through mobile and desktop applications you download from the Websites or from FGI.

It does not apply to information collected by any third party, including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or on the Websites.

By accessing or using the Websites, using any mobile and desktop applications you may download from the Websites or FGI, or entering into any document or submitting any form that expressly incorporates this Policy by reference, you agree to this Policy. This Policy may change from time to time (see Changes to Our Privacy Policy). Your continued use of the Websites after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the Policy periodically for updates.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU AND HOW WE COLLECT IT

We collect several types of information from and about users of our Websites, including information:

  • By which you may be personally identified, such as name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, or any other identifier by which you may be contacted online or offline (“personal information”);
  • That is about you but individually does not identify you, such as job title; and/or

CHOICES ABOUT HOW WE USE AND DISCLOSE YOUR INFORMATION

We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

  • Tracking Technologies and Advertising. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of this site may then be inaccessible or not function properly.
  • Promotional Offers from Us. If you do not wish to have your email address used by us to promote our own or third parties’ products or services, you can opt-out by following the unsubscribe link or instructions provided in any email we send.

We do not control third parties’ collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) on the NAI’s website.

LINKS FROM THE WEBSITES; THIRD-PARTY COLLECTION

If the Websites contain links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your convenience only. In addition to links from the Websites, we cooperate with a number of third parties to provide resources which relate to our services in other formats.  These third parties may also independently collect information on their own behalf, in person or through other means, in connection with services provided by us.  We have no control over third-party collection and use of your information or the contents of third-party sites or resources, and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of, or provision of information in connection with, any of them. If you decide to access any of the third-party websites linked to the Websites or otherwise provide information to any third parties, you do so entirely at your own risk and subject to the terms and conditions of use for such websites or other policies provided by such third parties at the time of collection.

We do not guarantee that you will receive notice or an alert when providing information to a third party or when you leave our Websites, and it is your responsibility to determine the party to whom information is being provided or when you have left the Websites. Any personal information you provide to a third party, including through linked pages or applications, is provided directly to that third party and is subject to that third party’s privacy and other policies. CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13

Our Websites are not intended for children under 13 years of age. No one under age 13 may provide any information to or on the Websites. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on the Websites or through any of its features, or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or user name you may use. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. FGI strives to provide informative, timely, accurate material on our Websites. However, the information provided should not take the place of professional guidance or advice. FGI and others who provide information posted on the Websites are not responsible for errors or omissions in the information provided or any actions that result from use of such information. Corrections and additions to the content on the Websites are made when necessary and as time permits.

Use of FGI’s logos and use of FGI’s Guidelines for Design and Construction documents without FGI’s prior consent is strictly prohibited. CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

It is our policy to post any changes we make to this Policy on this page. The date the Policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for ensuring we have an up-to-date active and deliverable email address for you, and for periodically visiting our Websites and this Policy to check for any changes.

GEOGRAPHIC RESTRICTIONS

We provide the Websites for use only by persons located in the United States. We make no claims that the Websites or any of their content is accessible or appropriate outside of the United States. Access to the Websites may not be legal by certain persons or in certain countries. If you access the Websites from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws. This Policy shall be governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard for its conflict of law provisions.
